Charles Paul Edward Jumet pleaded guilty in November to conspiracy to make corrupt payments to foreign officials and lying to investigators about the scheme. The plot involved paying $212,000 in bribes between 1997 and 2000 to secure $18 million in contracts for his Virginia Beach firm Ports Engineering Consults.
At his sentencing Monday, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson also ordered the 53-year-old Fluvanna County resident to pay $15,000 in fines.
Another executive, John Warwick, also pleaded guilty. He's scheduled to be sentenced May 18.
