InterEnergy will invest $427,000,000.00 in the wind park of Penonome, the largest of Central America, developed by the Union Eolica Panamena (UEP)
A total investment of $564,000,000.00 will be invested in the project.
The decision made by InterEnergy Holdings to be part of the second phase of the development reinforces the initiative of this type of investment.
The first 22 turbines began operation in December with a total generation of 55 megawatts – equivalent to the consumption of 20,000 houses.
The wind park of Penonome will have a total of 106 wind turbines with a capacity of 270 megawatts.
The President of InterEnergy, Rolando Gonzalez Bunster said this was the largest investment the company has ever done in terms of renewable energy production by its size and importance – which will without doubt become a reference in the industry not only in Panama but in the entire region.
