Panama received in 2015 the sum of $ 5.038 million in foreign direct investment, an increase of 16.9% compared to 2014, according to the Comptroller General of the Republic. Most of the investment corresponds to what is known as reinvested earnings.
According to the UN agency, Panama "is well positioned to continue to receive important inputs"

In recent years, investment has diversified and also logistics, trade and financial sector have entered large sums of foreign capital into sectors such as renewable energy and mining.
